The park is situated in the heart of the vibrant community of Alvaston, a suburb of the City of Derby. When creating Alvaston Pirates Model Boat Club we wanted not just to sail our models Boats but also to be a part of the Alvaston Park Community.
As such it was set in stone from day one in the constitution that we would do what we could to give something back to the community. We achieve this by
• Fully supporting Alvaston Park Friends in all their events in the park: -
• Star gazing evening
• Summer Fun Day in the park
• Christmas Fair in the park
• Providing 2 fun boats (see photo’s in our “Gallery” page) for the use of local children (providing they are accompanied by a responsible adult), these are available at all our regular club events.
• Working with local voluntary organisations (e.g. the YMCA) in offering our fun boats for their use.
